American Consumers Are Looking To Spend On Trips: According to Unicomm’s Travel & Tourism Marketing Group hosted on Linked-In, American consumers are looking to spend more on trips in 2012.

 

Unicomm, producers of the Travel & Adventure Shows had a remarkable success at their last two Travel and Adventure Shows in Long Beach, California and Chicago. The past two weekend shows generated a record attendance of over 43,000 attendees.

 

According to a survey conducted by Unicomm, consumers indicated they will spend 13% more on travel trips in 2012. 76% found their next trip at the two Travel & Adventure Shows and 94% of them will travel within the next 6 months. According to their survey 56% claim that Women make the travel decisions for the household and 41% will spend over $5,000 per trip and 70% will spend over $2,500.

The average increase in Vacation spending is + 13% over last year. It appears that American consumer’s increasing economic confidence is translating to a real increase in travel spending.
